Only one in four intermediaries believe the increase to the inheritance tax (IHT) threshold will harm the whole of life (WOL) market - despite the cover being sold as an IHT tool, according to COVER's latest online survey.

The web poll revealed that 73.3% of respondents do not think Gordon Brown's decision to increase the IHT threshold will have a negative impact on WOL sales. Only 26.7% disagreed.

This month's survey asks whether the ABI's updated Statement of Best Practice for critical illness cover will help clear the fog around the product.
