2018 was the year that financial services finally woke up to the issue of gender disparity. A conversation that COVER, alongside sister publications Professional Adviser and Retirement Planner, ushered in with the inaugural Women in Financial Advice Awards in October. Scottish Widows research found that within the UK adviser market, a staggering 87% are male, meaning that a mere 3000 or so registered financial advisers are women.
