Iress adds ex-smoker questions to IP service

Technology provider, Iress, has added ex-smoker questions to its income protection (IP) comparison service on its platform, The Exchange.

The questions allow advisers to make a distinction between current smokers, non-smokers and ex-smokers, according to the provider. This means insurers can provide more personalised premiums that are more accurate to the client's level of risk. The Exchange Platform's ex-smoker feature has been supported by Aviva, Zurich, Royal London and National Friendly on launch.
