Missed early diagnosis for cancer leads uptick in PMI policies

Employers increasingly rolling out private healthcare to more of their employees

The UK is experiencing a surge in private medical insurance (PMI) take-up and admissions, following missed opportunities for detecting some serious conditions, such as cancer, at an early stage, according to independent consultancy, Broadstone.

An increasing number of people are unable to access timely treatment and diagnosis for their health concerns, which is leading to longer and more complex treatment needs and "poorer outcomes", said Brett Hill, head of health and protection, Broadstone.
