Protection Review has appointed Roger Edwards as marketing director from January 1st 2016.
Edwards' previous roles include managing director of Bright Grey and Scottish Provident.
He will be working on developing events, improving the website and furthering the use of technology to help the consultancy reach wider audiences.
The Protection Review is the independent protection consultancy established in 2003 by co-chairmen Peter Le Beau and Andy Couchman.
Edwards' appointment brings the Protection Review team up to six people, which also includes Kevin Carr, Jo Miller and Frances Delhoy. There will be no changes to these existing roles.
