Ageas boosts Best Doctors cover across all protection products

clock

In the first of a planned series of protection policy improvements, Ageas Protect has extended its existing partnership with Best Doctors and now gives all new customers access to expert medical opinions as soon as their policy goes on-risk.

Customers buying any term assurance, family income benefit, income protection or critical illness cover from Ageas Protect will now be able get a second medical opinion through Best Doctors on the diagnosis and treatment of serious medical conditions worrying them, their partner or their dependent children.

The added value service will be given to customers who buy any type of YourLife Plan, Low Start or Real Life Cover policy from Ageas Protect, which goes on risk after 1st January 2013.

In 2010 Ageas announced the availability of Best Doctors on Critical Illness, Income Protection and Real Life Cover products. Today's announcement makes the service available on any type of policy purchased from Ageas Protect, including Term Assurance and Family Income Benefit.

Using the Best Doctors service does not have to be linked to a claim.

Commenting, Steve Casey, head of marketing and propositions at Ageas Protect, said: "The introduction of gender neutral pricing and I-E tax changes will this year force new protection customers to pay more for their insurance cover. We feel it's only fair to ensure they all get something in return.

"That's why our first step has been to make Best Doctors available across all of our policies, so every new customer and their family benefits equally."
