Specialist insurer's 'degrading' ad banned by watchdog

A specialist insurance provider has been disciplined by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) for an advert branded "provocative" and "degrading".

Aaduki Multimedia Insurance, a branch of Versatile Insurance, provides income protection, equipment and professional indemnity cover to multimedia professionals such as photographers.

The ASA has ruled Aaduki's advert, which featured a topless woman holding a digital camera to each breast, was degrading to women, provocative and bore little relevance to the products on offer.

The advert, printed in Amateur Photographer in July, has been banned in its current form.
