Two-fifths of Unum's rehabilitation services were used for poor mental health in 2018

In light of government proposals to extend statutory sick pay to low-earning workers and improve flexibility around return to work support, Unum has revealed that more people used its rehabilitation support for mental health issues than any other condition in 2018. According to Unum, more than 7,000 people used its range of return to work services last year and two-fifths (39%) did so due to mental health challenges such as stress and anxiety.
