The Income Protection Task Force (IPTF) has released the fourth addition to its 7 Claims Stories series, with the latest instalment aiming to help demystify income protection (IP) calculations.

The 7 Claims Stories series is a project launched by the IPTF to shine a light on IP claims and to highlight key aspects for improvement. Included in the latest chapter is how cover levels are set, how claims are assessed and how proportionate benefits work when claimants return to work, which the IPTF has called one of the most complex and misunderstood areas of IP. The instalment was written by Tom Salmon, senior claims assessor, Pacific Life Re, with Phil Deacon, IPTF 7 Claims Stories lead, providing commentary.
