78% of employees still anxious about cost of living

Health Shield Friendly Society has released its latest 'Britain At Work' report, finding that employees across all wage brackets are still suffering due to the cost-of-living crisis, four years after it began.

The research – which surveyed 975 working adults over the age of 18 who were in full- or part-time employment in the UK – found that 78% of UK employees were still worried about the cost-of-living crisis, although nearly half would not tell their boss. While the rate of employees who worried has declined from 89% in last year's report, nearly four-fifths remained concerned. Although inflation has fallen to 3% this year from a high of 11.1% in 2022, Health Shield said that employees remain anxious and impacted.
