'Carers Action Plan' launched by UK government to help carers - one-in-10 adults

The Department of Health and Social Care has launched a two-year scheme to improve support for unpaid carers. Entitled the ‘Carers Action Plan 2018 to 2020', the scheme involves a £500,000 worth of funding for social care innovation and includes employment support for carers It also promotes best practice for flexible working so that carers can continue to work alongside their role as carers, while the carer Innovations Fund will be used to fund the identification of young carers and better access to support.
