A new occupational healthcare company, Work Doctors, aims to make it easier to access occupational healthcare and traditional family medicine for major UK businesses.

claiming it has already signed with its first clients, Dr Mark O'Connor, managing director at Work Doctors, said: "There is a gap in the market for an occupational healthcare company that works with both the HR manager and employee to deliver sensitive solutions in a timely and personal way.

"With traditional occupational healthcare providers, it can sometimes take many weeks for a consultant to interview the employee and complete a report which is often short, vague, risk averse and without a comprehensive management plan to progress the HR problem.

Work Doctors promises to deliver a definite report and recommended treatment plan within 24 hours.

O'Connor said: "Our model works for both by providing a cast iron, 'no frills' report that contains full documentation of the issues and instruction on how to manage the situation for the employer, the content of which has already been agreed by the employee who therefore feels involved, protected and cared for."
