LV= will be open until midnight on Thursday 20 December for processing gender based business before the December 21 deadline.
The protection provider has a specialist team in the run up to G Day with a dedicated contact number and email address for advisers and clients (below), which will be working from 8.30 am to 6.30 pm in the week to 14 December, followed by 8.30 am to 9.00 pm from 17 to 19 December, then 8.30 am to midnight on 20 December.
LV= has already switched to gender neutral rates and quotes will now automatically be gender neutral for its life, income protection and critical illness products. It also warned of pricing turbulence in the new year.
Mark Jones, LV= Head of Protection said: "We have seen a notable increase in protection business over the last few weeks, by guaranteeing that applications received before 10 December will be on risk before the gender deadline, ensuring advisers won't need to go back to clients and explain they missed the deadline to secure better rates.
"In the lead up to G Day we've provided advisers with a clear, simple and common sense approach to pipeline business, and our switch to gender neutral rates now avoids any last minute uncertainty.
"As the industry implements the Gender and I minus E changes we can expect to see plenty of re-pricing in the early part of 2013, with providers attempting to strike the right balance."
