Swiss Life is launching an international e-commerce venture selling insurance and a range of other financial services products to expatriates.
David Kneeshaw, previously director of personal finance at Swiss Life and chief executive of the new venture, said: "Financial services will be at the heart of the proposition but it will not be constrained by it." He added that there were a number of other services expatriates need on re-settlement that will be aggregated online through the new service.
The as yet unnamed company is also looking at providing a similar service to small and medium-sized enterprises. The facility would address the needs of small businesses such as arranging employee benefit packages and marketing.
Kneeshaw said: "Swiss Life UK has been at the forefront of the development of e-commerce within the whole of the Swiss Life Group.
"This expertise has been acknowledged by our head office in Zurich in deciding to base the new company in this country."
