CIGNA HealthCare has added a fourth product, Opal, to its dental plan portfolio.

The provider already has three different levels of dental cover in place ' Crystal, Pearl and Diamond.

The provider says the aim of the Opal product is to make dental care more affordable by offering a better balance between the contributions made towards the cost of dental treatment and the level of reimbursement.

Ann Dougan, dental marketing manager of CIGNA, said: 'The addition of the Opal product means we now provide a plan to suit every employer's circumstances.'

Opal offers a variety of flexible options to suit the needs of employers, which range from a company-paid or a flex scheme to employee-pay-all schemes.

The Opal product has a core annual benefit of £800 including two examinations, two scale and polish treatments, four x-rays and four quadrants of periodontal treatment.

In addition, the Opal plan offers a list of comprehensive benefits and levels of cover.

Immediate cover is available and the policy also provides £300 accident and worldwide emergency cover.

There is no pre-joining exam required before the policy can be taken out and policyholders also have the option of choosing a dentist of their choice.

Treatments not covered under the scheme include surgical implants.
