Legal & General has launched a tool designed to analyse brokers' ability to sell protection alongside a mortgage.
The sales analysis framework, known as Mortgage Related Protection Framework, is currently being used across 11% of L&G's protection business. The provider said it would identify where advisers needed to increase their effectiveness while selling protection.
Karen Blatchford, commercial director for housing at the provider, said: "In every firm, there will be some advisers that are good at selling protection alongside a mortgage and some that are not. This tool helps identify those who need assistance, so we can improve individual performance and increase profitability for the firm."
Blatchford added that the tool had proved so effective that L&G would be using it as its standard benchmark for comparing the performances of its 'appointed representative mortgage network advisers'.
