Employers could reduce sickness absence in the workplace by 43% if they get their employees vaccinated against the flu, according to Bupa.
Research conducted by the provider showed that the flu vaccine could reduce upper respiratory illness by 24% and provide significant cost savings for companies in days lost per employee.
According to the Consumer Health Information Centre, over 150 million working days are lost each year due to flu-related illnesses, at a cost of around £6.75bn to businesses.
