Scientists in the US have developed a chemical treatment for cotton that could spell the end of body odour and smelly socks. Tests showed that after applying a chlorine-based compound to cotton, those wearing the chemically treated clothing had "noticeably reduced odour
"The treatment process could easily be included in clothing production lines. Odour-resistant clothes could be on the market by the beginning of next year," claimed Dr Jeffrey Williams, president of Halosource, the company which developed the compound
