Friends Provident has rolled out a series of enhancements to its income protection (IP) plans, and announced a 10% discount on premiums for those applying to insure a sum of £400 a week or more, and who are occupation class one customers.
The changes include a new maximum sum insured of £2,400 per week for most occupations. The limit for the maximum period a claimant may receive rehabilitation benefit has been removed and cover has also been increased to protect all 'benefits in kind'.
Peter Hamilton, head of protection marketing at Friends Provident, said: 'These enhancements will promote further growth in one of our key product areas.'
In additions, the 'civil commotion/ riot' clause will be removed and the houseperson's benefit increased to a maximum of £300 per week.
The changes apply to both individual and executive IP and to IP cover within the menu-based Select Protection plan.
