David Child has taken over the role of Lifesearch managing director from Tom Baigrie, who moves to become chief executive of the company.

Child (pictured) moves from his current position of non-executive director of the Baigrie Davies Lifesearch group, where he had been in charge of directing the strategy of the group.

A spokesperson for Lifesearch said Child's success in that role led to Baigrie's decision to make him managing director of the Lifesearch business.

Child's focus will be on driving profits and general governance of the company, the spokesperson said.

Baigrie in his new role as CEO will spend more time focusing on the consumer image of Lifesearch, and the wider financial industry, he added.
