Chris Cummings, director general at the Association of Independent Financial Advisers (AIFA) will be a guest speaker at the COVER Forum.
He will replace former director general, David Severn, who stepped down from the position due to ill health in June.
Andrew Honey, head of department for the Financial Services Authority's small business division, with responsibility for general insurance firms, will also be speaking at the conference on 6 October.
