Medicare International has launched a new international private health insurance policy option, Executive Plus, aimed at working and retired expatriates worldwide. Clients can now choose between four levels of cover.
The new policy option offers significant extra benefits in areas such as maternity care, pregnancy cover and childhood vaccinations which are now covered for the first time. MediCare International expects these benefits to appeal to families with children, an important sector of the market. According to research carried out by Mintel, some 55% of expatriates are accompanied by their spouses
Other significant enhancements include a doubling of the cover for organ transplants surgery and a new service covering outpatient psychiatric care costs.
All Medicare International policies cover GP access, ambulance services, accident and emergency care, in-hospital costs, evacuation, home nursing cover and parental accommodation costs where a child under 17 years old requires treatment.
Commenting, David Pryor, senior executive director said, "Our client feedback tells us that, working abroad, people actually want the best possible cover and are not prepared to cut corners. That said, our policies still offer some of the best value available and as standard, our policies are not limited to single country or regional areas, which many working expatriates find to be a great advantage."
