Cash plans

Healthcare cash plan provider, HealthSure, is hoping to extend its corporate client base with the introduction of a new £1 product. The solution is aimed at businesses looking to address the growing problem of long-term sickness absence among employees.

Available through intermediaries, the product has three payment levels of £1, £2 and £3 per employee per week and provides cover for dental and optical treatment as well as more strategic health management services such as health screening and specialist consultations. A 24-hour counselling helpline is also available to help identify and address health-related absence. Because of the increased focus on managing stress and improving general wellbeing in the corporate sector, complementary therapies are also a key feature of the plan, with benefits starting at £150 per adult.

Raman Sankaran, head of marketing at HealthSure said: "The product's affordability means that it is viable to introduce to all levels of staff and the areas of cover complement any existing PMI provision."
