Exeter Friendly Society has launched a new insurance brokerage service for expats in Javea, Spain.
The wholly owned subsidiary, Go Insure It, will offer a range of financial services including private medical insurance (PMI), dental and funeral plans, and home, travel and motor insurance.
In order to provide a whole range of product offerings, Go Insure It has secured partnership deals with a number of providers. It will be supplying international PMI through Exeter Friendly Society, Norwich Union and Spanish insurer, Sanitas, with the services offering a range of cover including basic, comprehensive and cover between the UK and Spain.
The launch follows the firm's decision to passport its permissions across to Spain under the Insurance Medication Directive and offer a fully regulated advisory service to the expat community.
Neil Armitage, group marketing director at Exeter Friendly Society, said the demand for regulated products contributed to the launch and hopes this will give the company an edge in the market.
"The expat market is growing massively, with more younger people going to live abroad. While there are already brokers in Spain, they do not offer a full range of choice unless they are fully regulated, and many are not.
"We have to give wholly specialist advice and hope to offer this through Go Insure It. Having a fully regulated brokerage, that is unique in the area, should enable us to provide that service," he said.
Armitage also announced future plans to expand the service to neighbouring Portugal within 18 months and later into Eastern Europe. Further information can be found at www.goinsureit.com.
