Marcus Hearn & Co has launched a personal accident policy for amateur sports teams.
The Amateur Team Sports policy is taken out by the team or club and covers all members while they play, practice or train.
Travel to and from arranged events by car, coach or public transport is also covered.
The policy is available in single units and open to most UK teams and those in the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.
A single unit offers a capital benefit of £5,000 for death, permanent total loss of sight, loss of one or two limbs or permanent total disablement which prevents the person from working.
Also included is a weekly £50 benefit for temporary total disablement, payable for one year excluding the first 14 days. Premiums vary according to risk per sport.
Barry Fitsimons, director at Marcus Hearn, said: "There has been huge growth in the playing of traditional team sports in recent years and it represents a real opportunity for brokers.
"The problem in the past has been that policies offered low benefits and were difficult to sell. Our amateur team sports policy solves both these problems with competitive rates and sensible levels of combined capital and weekly benefits."
