IPTF calls on government to collaborate with protection industry

In response to Labour’s reform to health and disability benefits, the Income Protection Task Force (IPTF) has written an open letter to Prime Minister Keir Starmer encouraging protection industry collaboration.

The reforms, which were announced on 18 March, 2025 by work and pensions secretary Liz Kendall, aim to save £5 billion by the end of 2030. It will also invest an additional £1bn a year for employment support, aiming to get people back into work. In its letter, the IPTF highlighted the protection industry's "pivotal role" in supporting the government's efforts to build financial resiliency and get people back into work.
