Data from Health Assured has revealed the number of people calling their Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) helpline for support for depression increased by 31% in June, compared to May this year. In June, the helpline received an additional 249 calls regarding the illness. This finding comes after a report published last week by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), which revealed that symptoms of depression in the UK almost doubled in June. The ONS reported that almost one in five adults (19.2%) were likely to be experiencing some form of depression during the Covid-19 pandemic...
