Increasing life expectancy and rise in dementia and frailty

Two in five Brits (40%) either expect they will, or already do, support their elderly parents financially in later life, research by VitalityLife has revealed. A third of UK adults (30%) believe the total cost of supporting parents, paying care home fees, arranging help at home, or modifying the home will be £1,000 - £5,000, the findings revealed, however the average annual cost per person with dementia is £32,250 and care costs can amount up to £100,000 during their lifetime.
