Standard Life drops exclusions

Standard Life has announced major changes to its income protection (IP) cover policies. The maximum benefit for IP has been increased by 20% to £150,000 and all plan exclusions, including pregnancy and HIV, have been removed. Standard Life said that it hoped that these new changes would go some way to addressing the current £175bn IP gap as well as the £2.3trn protection gap in the UK.
