Standard Life Healthcare's chief executive, Mike Hall, has taken over the chair of the Association of British Insurer's (ABI) private medical insurance committee. Key future issues for the committee are FSA regulation of health insurance products and the reputation of the industry in terms of health funding.
Richard Walsh, head of health at the ABI, said: 'Mike Hall takes over at a time when health is top of the political agenda. The Government is going to fight the next election around health, and we appreciate the breadth of public and private healthcare experience Mike brings.'
