PruProtect has joined the Income Protection (IP) Task Force for 2009 with a view to continuing its membership with the industry steering group indefinitely.
Coming onboard for the first time, the provider has signed up to be part of the team for the foreseeable future. Its representative will be Kevin Carr, director of protection development, who was heavily involved with the task force in his previous position of senior policy adviser at LifeSearch.
Carr said he was very pleased to be joining the group led by Peter Le Beau and Clive Waller. He added: "It's great and we're delighted to have joined the group. PruProtect understands and believes that IP is an essential product in the overall group of protection products and it fully supports the work done by the task force to date, and we are looking forward to helping the task force progress its aims in 2009. I was present at the first group meeting, which was a couple of years ago. I was heavily involved throughout my time at LifeSearch and I'm pleased that I am able to continue that with PruProtect."
Carr went on to say that the key issue was the raising of protection awareness not only to consumers but across the industry, in particular that of IP.
Peter Le Beau, co-chair of the IP Task Force, said: "We're delighted because PruProtect is a very important office and it is good to have Kevin on board again because there are few better minds in the protection industry than his. So we're delighted on both accounts, to have him involved again as well as PruProtect."
