UnumProvident's new critical illness plan, Elixia 123, is to be rolled out as a key worker business protection plan at the end of June. The core product will be similar to the existing plan but will be geared towards the corporate market and as the product is for businesses, it will have to be written in trust.
Eugine McCormack, director of marketing at Unum, said: 'It will be necessary to write the product in trust as the business owns the product. If a key worker is off work, the benefits will be paid to the business.'
