Bupa has revealed that it will be adding an expert underwriting system to its website in June this year.
The system is currently being tested internally and, according to Bupa's initial feedback, has been very positive. It will go into the pilot stage in April when a number of intermediaries will test it.
Steve Casey, product manager at Bupa Individual Protection, said: "This is in direct response from intermediaries and we are hoping to enhance the customer experience."
He said that, in time, it would be linked up to the provider's critical illness product and that it may make changes to the system itself, but he declined to comment on exactly what those changes may be.
This is all part of a bigger strategy at the provider, which is making significant enhancements to its extranet service.
In Q3, it is set to add its income protection product on to the extranet service.
