Skandia has improved its critical illness plan by enhancing the 'Best Doctors' service and offering policyholders the opportunity to upgrade for free.
Skandia offers standalone critical illness cover or critical illness with life cover and both existing and new clients now have access to additional services.
The Best Doctors service provides a database of medical specialists in the UK and overseas, helping claimants source the best doctor for their condition.
Following the improvements, policyholders now have access to Best Doctors Secondary Expert Opinion service, which allows a second opinion to be taken from a panel of specialists following a critical illness claim and initial diagnosis. Best Doctors VIP Concierge is also available, which provides support with booking travel arrangements, airport assistance, medical appointments, pre-admission arrangements and accommodation.
Lynda Cox, senior marketing manager at Skandia, said: 'The enhancement of the Best Doctors service means that we are continuing our 10-year history of providing free upgrades to clients who can be secure in the knowledge they will have access to the best medical experts and services wherever they are in the world.'
