A new quote service, which allows advisers to compare products that fall out of traditional quoting parameters - such as multi-benefit protection and long term care insurance - has been launched by The Exchange.
Providers are to have their own dedicated section on its portal Exweb, allowing advisers to retrieve quotes for more complex products. The service, called Company Quote, is accessible from Exweb's home- page, which lists providers alphabetically and details the specific quotes available from each company.
"The Company Quote service has been developed as a natural extension of our existing quotation services," said Sue Summers, managing director of The Exchange. "By giving each provider a dedicated section on Exweb they have the flexibility to enable quotes and transactions for the parts of their product range that are not appropriate for our traditional service."
The service will also include a searchable drop-down list that can identify product areas and providers that support advisers' selections. Although only one provider - Zurich Financial Services - has signed up to the service with its Allied Dunbar Mortgage and Family Protector Plan, The Exchange claims more providers are set to join shortly.
According to Summers, the launch will allow providers to further raise their profile to IFAs by allowing them to market their entire product range on the portal.
