Edinburgh-based protection insurer, Bright Grey, has announced it wrote £9.3 million in new business in the first half of 2004. The figures, which account for the period January to June 2004, are more than double the firm's total new business for 2003. The company's success means that it has also significantly increased its employee numbers, which now stands at around 300 people. David Robinson, chief executive at Bright Grey, said: "We set ourselves some challenging targets for 2004. I am obviously delighted with these half-year results. To already be so far ahead of the new business written last year is quite an achievement."
