Royal Liver has become the first provider to launch a web-only pension term assurance (PTA) product.
The move follows a number of other providers entering the market after A-Day.
Royal Liver's Pension Life Cover offers online underwriting and tele-underwriting on all applications.
Andy Milburn, IFA market manager at Royal Liver, said: "As with our Protection Menu products, Pension Life Cover is supported by our progressive underwriting process. Together with the removal of any automatic medical limits, this allows advisers to place Pension Life Cover business on risk more quickly, without having to suffer lost time and money through delays caused by chasing GP reports."
As Royal Liver launched its cover, Standard Life announced that its PTA offering was also available to IFAs. The cover, Life Insurance with Tax Relief, is available as single life on a level or decreasing term.
Royal Liver and Standard Life's PTA covers are now available via the Exchange's PTA service. Friends Provident and Legal & General have already launched their PTA products.
