A total of 34 staff at Legal & General (L&G) have completed a medical underwriting course at Cardiff University. The course is the first of its kind in the UK and was developed in a joint effort between L&G and the course director, Mansel Aylward, honourary professor in the School of Psychology and the University of Wales College of Medicine. The course is designed to enhance students' knowledge and understanding of medical conditions, gathering relevant information for underwriting and providing a critical appraisal of medical reports.
