Private medical insurer, Exeter Friendly Society, has launched a new level of cover for its Interplan Worldwide policy.
Called Platinum, this cover has been designed to offer greater freedom to expatriates and their families at a time when an increasing number of people are taking early retirement or round the world trips.
Interplan Worldwide has been designed specifically for mobile expatriates and those who live overseas. It offers a choice of five different levels of cover. Benefits include £30,000 inpatient cover – per condition per year – and £3,000 outpatient services per year. Day patient treatment is also available. Cover for oncology, including radiotherapy and chemotherapy, is also a feature of the plan.
Additional benefits include specialist consultations, home nursing, health checks and complementary treatments such as physiotherapy. All members are provided with a membership card and access to a private 24-hour GP helpline.
Premiums are calculated according to age of entry and do not increase as the policyholder gets older, instead subscription reviews will reflect rising costs of medical care and the number of claims received.
Neil Armitage, marketing director at Exeter Friendly Society, said: "In launching Platinum cover, we are continuing to offer members the type of products that are most valuable to them and their lifestyle. Our members increasingly require their medical insurance to be portable."
