Training workshops for advisers new to the private medical insurance (PMI) market are being offered to members of intermediary network Premier Health.
The workshops will run throughout the year in various locations, with support from a number of insurers. The initiative aims to provide an introductory overview of the PMI market, including tips on how to advise clients correctly, an explanation of the different levels of cover available and information on products and insurers in both the individual and corporate sectors.
Julia Maxwell, director of Premier Health, said the workshops are so far proving successful. 'Advising on medical insurance can be an excellent way of building long-term relationships with clients but it needs to be done correctly. Many brokers are put off entering the market because of preconceptions they have ' but our workshops aim to correct those.'
