Two-thirds of visitors to COVER's website believed the Association of British Insurers (ABI) was wrong in its defence of Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) following the rulings of the Competition Commission.

The survey showed that 66.7% thought that the ABI had taken a misstep in expressing concern that negative publicity around PPI could leave people unprotected if consumers opt against taking out a product. 33.3% disagreed, saying the ABI had taken the right stance.

In light of the symbiotic relationship between mortgage sales and protection sales, is the IP Task Force right to encourage further interaction with the mortgage industry?
