Sales of budget style income protection (IP) plans are continuing to increase according to research from GE Frankona Re.
The reinsurer saw a 25% increase in sales during 2001 and Louise Roche, marketing analyst at the group, said: 'The continued success of budget IP comes as no surprise, given the ongoing housing boom and the fact that over 90% of budget IP sales are linked to mortgage protection.'
