MorganAsh has launched tele-claims, a process where trained nurses will interview claimants at the beginning of the claims process to speed up the claims procedure.
MorganAsh claimed that the new system, developed in partnership with reinsurer Scor Global Life UK, will be similar to tele-underwriting, and will benefit its customers by reducing the need for sending cumbersome claims forms back and forth in the event of a customer making a claim.
Steve Maybury, head of underwriting for Scor, said: "Getting information from the customer has to be a fair process, and speaking to an experienced nurse who understands the medical situation is better than just writing on a claim."
Andrew Gething, managing director at MorganAsh, claimed tele-underwriting had gathered 70% more information than paper applications and hoped this would be replicated with tele-claims.
