BUPA has launched two new private medical insurance (PMI) schemes, which offer low-cost cover to both employees and their families.
BUPA EmployeeChoice and BUPA EmployeeChoice Essential have been designed to provide health insurance to all staff as well as their family members, as long as they have not been covered by their own company- paid BUPA PMI scheme.
Both schemes offer a number of services and benefits including access to 180 hospitals in the BUPA Partnership Network and cover for eligible diagnostic tests, inpatient, day case treatment and physiotherapy. They also provide full cover for eligible heart and cancer treatment. Premiums will be offered from £16.50 per month.
"We have essentially created these new low cost schemes to extend our offering to individuals and their families who do not have access to private medical insurance through their employer," said Corinne Cope, affinity account manager at BUPA.
The new offerings are currently available to over 3,000 companies in the UK, which currently have BUPA PMI schemes put into place. They will mainly be sold through BUPA's direct sales force, but intermediaries wishing to advise on the products can telephone BUPA for further information.
