Help the Aged Care Fees Advisory Services has seen a huge rise in enquiries since the introduction of changes through the Health and Social Care Act. The changes, introduced in April and October, have left people with concerns over possibly having to sell their home and the potential loss of income if one of a couple must go into long term care.
The helpline can provide free guidance on authority procedures and responsibilities, benefit entitlements, paying for care fees, asset protection, the treatment of couples and the care choices available.
The service is open weekdays, 9am to 5pm, on 0500 76 74 76
