When we look at critical illness cover, the figures do not seem to add up. In the UK, according to MoneySupermarket.com, people are more likely to suffer a serious illness than die before the age of 65 and yet, according to our own protection research, people are four times less likely to take out critical illness cover (8%) than they are to obtain life insurance (34%). Clearly, there is a gap between perception and reality when it comes to the need for this type of cover so here are the four most common reasons people give for not taking out critical illness cover - and some suggestions...
