Aviva agrees protection partnership with Countrywide

Aviva has secured an exclusive five-year distribution agreement with Countrywide plc to provide its mortgage and rental customers with protection insurance.

  Through Countrywide's network of more than 900 branches, which arranged more than 90,000 mortgages last year, customers will be able to access Aviva's life insurance, critical illness cover and income protection cover. Protection business will be underwritten through Aviva's ALPS platform. The new deal replaces a former distribution agreement with Friends Life that began in 2002.
