Old Mutual Wealth releases 2016 life and CI claims stats

Old Mutual Wealth's protection business paid 100% of life claims for the seventh year in a row.

  This figure is above the industry average of 98.3%, according to the statistics released from the Association of British Insurers (ABI). For its Protect book, Old Mutual Wealth paid 92.3% of critical illness claims. For its Heritage book it paid 89% of claims.  Over 83% of critical illness claims were made for the top three conditions of cancer, heart attack and stroke, the insurer said.
