There is significant room for improvement in employee benefits packages, according to research conducted by consult- ancy MX Financial Solutions. Just 1% of employers in the UK are extremely satisfied with their current employee benefits package and 74% believe their current benefit offering had room for improvement.
A total of 40% of all respondents felt that employees would welcome more flexibility and a wider range of relevant benefits. Engaging employees in the business and increasing staff retention were also seen as key advantages of flexible benefits plans. Lynne Maltby, flexible benefits director at MX Financial Solutions, said employers need to introduce greater flexibility into the workplace.
'Employers need to apply a more flexible working culture within their organisation in order to meet the high lifestyle demands placed on employees - from focusing on flexible working hours to providing relevant employee benefits,' she said.
