MediQuote has added a health-care cash plan facility to its comparative quote system.
Intermediaries using the facility can now compare the individual and group products being offered by Birmingham Hospital Saturday Fund, Medicash and Standard Life Healthcare.
To date, the portal has focused entirely on private medical insurance, but Mark Kimberling, business development director at MediQuote, says the addition of cash plans follows a change in the market.
'Historically, cash plans have not been a big area of business for intermediaries, but the market is growing as there is an increasing number of people looking to supplement their private medical insurance policy with the benefits of a cash plan.
'Similarly, many companies are introducing corporate cash plan schemes for those employees who do not qualify for the corporate private medical insurance scheme,' he said.
Kimberling added that the company hopes to add at least three additional cash plan providers to the portal in the next four to six months.
